I finally, after almost 20 years of dating, figured something out about myself and men. I realized that if a man is interested in me and I like him back, I always find a reason why I shouldn't date him. I came to the conclusion that it is better if I reject him before he has a chance to reject me, so I don't have to get my feelings hurt. So, for the past couple of weeks, this has come in very handy. Now, I know I need to pull back and say, Is this really a red flag about this man or am I using it as an excuse not to allow myself to get close and be vulnerable?
